100 year old man raises £20m For Corona Virus Victims
It’s sad we live in a world where a 99 year old war veteran is doing more for our country than the government is right now.
This man fought for our right for free speech and tolerance. No one said it’s perfect, but remember this when you shout views of governmental conspiracy, tyranny, racism that you can’t back up with valid proof or reasoning.
I applaud the gesture, but we need to remember that the NHS is *not* a charity. It should have adequate funding. The generosity of the people should not be required to compensate government shortfalls.
99-year-old war veteran, Captain Tom Moore, has now risen over £20m for the NHS after walking 100 laps of his garden. He also plans to keep doing more as long as people continue donating to his appeal.
A Second World War veteran, from his military contributions to his support for NHS staff, Tom has demonstrated a lifetime of bravery and compassion. The Prime Minister will certainly be looking at ways to recognize Tom for his heroic efforts.
Tom is raising money for NHS Charities Together which supports health workers and volunteers caring for COVID-19 patients. The raised cash will be used to pay for care packs for staff, electronic devices for patients to keep in touch with family members and support groups for those recovering from corona virus.
This man deserves a knighthood. He’s done so much more than any sports person winning a trophy for a national team. He’s raised spirits and a shed load of money for the hardest working people in the country at the toughest time in a generation.
